Welcome to VirginiaBootBoy, a web site devoted to the art of bootblacking. In these pages, you will find descriptions and brief histories of the country’s most popular Bootblack Competitions and links to their sites. You will also find resource lists of Bootblacks, retailers of related products, and manufacturers of boots and bootblacking supplies. Where possible, we will include links to those sites.

In addition, you will find a description and link to the Bootblack Forum, a Yahoo group created for, and dedicated to, bootblacks and the exchange of information. Discussions range from tips and techniques to the exchange of energy between Bootblack and customer with everything you can imagine in between.

Finally, you will find a section on me, Bootboy. I’ll share pictures and stories submitted by some of my favorite people. I’ll also keep you informed on my progress on the projects I’m involved in, including the coordination of the International Mr. Bootblack competition.
